Micro House Funding Program

Additional Information

Micro House Funding Program (since February 2022) Welcome and thank you for considering or committing to funding a shelter for our unsheltered  neighbors living outside.

If you are receiving this paper, you have perhaps decided to help fund a micro house for donation to  Driftwood Housing for Driftwood Village, a campus-style community.

Our goal is to build thirty micro houses by volunteer and student groups. This takes a vast network of  support: Volunteers, builders, and donors or sponsors. Some individuals and groups do not desire to  build a micro house, but rather fund a micro house. With funds from the Micro House Funding Program, we can supply materials to builders who are not also raising funds.

Like Habitat for Humanity, Driftwood Housing is excited to provide funding to volunteers wishing to  build a micro house through our Micro House Building Program. However, we have limited funding to  offer, so we need a committed flow of funds.

The Micro House Funding Program allows us to secure the  funds and make those funds available when micro house builders are recruited. The Micro House Funding Program began in February 2022. When a micro house is built, the sponsor’s  name or names will be inscribed on a plaque that will be permanently secured on the outside of the cabin. Individuals have sponsored cabins. Organizations have sponsored cabins, and on the Summer of  2022, many individuals funded a micro house though our GoFundMe campaign. GoFundMe.org donated  &720.00 towards our $7,000.00 goal. We also had out-of-state donations. A list of all the GoFundMe  donors will be display on the cabin in the future.

So, how can I/we make our payment to fund a micro house?

Individual donors can fund a micro house in a couple of ways. These payment methods do not charge  fees, so, the entire amount of the contribution goes to helping our unsheltered neighbors.

• Individual donors can issue a check in the amount of $7,000.00 (seven thousand dollars), made payable to Driftwood Housing. Mail to Driftwood Housing, P. O. Box 41176, Mobile, AL 36640.

• Individual donors can donate through their bank’s Zelle app. In the donor’s bank Zelle app,  select driftwoodhousingproject@gmail.com.

For profit and non-profit corporate donors can issue a check in the amount of $7,000.00 (seven  thousand dollars), made payable to Driftwood Housing. Mail to Driftwood Housing, P. O. Box 41176,  Mobile, AL 36640.

Again, thank you for considering or committing to funding a micro house for our unsheltered neighbors
